Trip to Sonic
Me: (intending to get everyone the $2.99 Burger and Shake deal, and having spelled that out pretty clearly) Do you want ketchup, mayo, or mustard?
9 year old: Cheese.
Me: (not recalling offering that as an option)…Ok, but do you want ketchup, mayo, or mustard?
9 year old: I want a cheeseburger!
4 year old: I want a cheeseburger!
Me: Cheese costs 60 cents extra. Does it mean that much to you to have cheese?
The 9 year old mumbles something inaudibly.
Me: Okay. But do you want ketchup, mayo, or mustard?
9 year old: Ketchup AND mustard!
4 year old: I want ketchup and mustard!
Me: Okay. Do you want tots or fries?
9 year old: I want cheese tater tots.
Me: (again, not recalling that as being an option) No cheese. Tots or fries?
Them: I want fries!
That was only one of many incidents yesterday…at least we made it past the PopTart aisle at the grocery store without any disasters.
